I just had to share this picture. I posted it on Instagram as well : I just love it! (No pun intended) It was taken while the 7th graders were working on their art history grid enlargements, which I hope to post about his upcoming week.
We did grid enlargements on famous artists (M.C. Escher, Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, Ansel Adams, Leonardo Da Vinci, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, and Wassily Kandinsky) and the last two days we did Mini-Murals based on the artwork of Keith Haring. This week in Art, We worked on a group enlargement project with drawings/paintings from famous artists, like Leonardo Da Vinci, pablo picasso and other well-known artists. We also got tested on these famous artist and some of their work like drawing hands, starry night and others. This week in Art class we picked a famous artist and then we created a grid enlargment. We chose from Andy Warhol, M.C Escher, Salvador Dali, Vincent Van Gogh, Ansel Adams, Jackson Pollock, Pablo Picasso and Leonardo Da Vinci. After making a choice between these artists, we worked within our groups to recreate one of their pieces. Students were told to paint, but not only paint but use salt in the water paint to make a creative design, then they were told to use a sponge to create another unique design on their paintings, the students had to have at least six sections with three being different design. This week we worked on paper quilling. This is when you cut strips of paper and make them curly. Then you make a design on the paper. Now we are working on our art history group grid project. (pictures of that will be posted next week) :) This week in 7th grade art we have worked on paper quilling. We were able to do words, letters, or whatever we wanted to do. We have been behaving well for this week and also for the substitute teacher ,and we have earned a movie day. We have picked what movie we wanted too watch then we have picked "The Blind Side". |
