Good luck to all classes in this next quarter! Overall Winner - Mrs. Veeser's 3rd Grade
2nd Place - Mrs. Eichmeier's 3rd Grade 3rd Place - Mrs. Dubord's 2nd Grade Scores can be seen in the bottom corner of the agenda shown above. Things are pushing along over at the elementary! I just completed my second rotation of classes, which means I've had each class twice. (7 day rotation) My daily points system has been going well, and I like the adjustment from previous years. Current leaders are the two 3rd grade classes, as seen below. Special shout out to the 5th grade class, however, for being the first class to earn a perfect score of 100! After completing our sketchbooks to be used this year, I read the lovely book THE DOT by Peter H. Reynolds to all classes. Using this book as inspiration, students are completing collaborative paintings with concentric circles as the focus of the design. One class will start creating rings of color, and wherever they leave off, the next class continues the process. I'm excited to see the final result. Check back for updates to see what
these large paintings turn into! If you'd like to see what we're up to in the junior and high school - click here. I decided to update my classroom management plan this year. I have used the Art Room Chutes & Ladders game the last few years, and it was time for a change. I now use a Daily Points score sheet every time a class comes to the art room. Overall scores will be tallied and compared amongst all of the classes. The top overall score from each quarter will earn an art party with a yummy treat, recognition, and a special art project to complete for their class! So far, it has been going well, and we have a tie for first place after the first round of art class for the year!
